Hello all!

Starting tomorrow, it looks as though I will be offline at the house for a while--I am not sure for how long--it could be anywhere from a few days to a few weeks. I will try to go to the library to do stuff, but I will not be as available as I have been. Emails may pile up, and any posting will be intermittent at best. I am hoping my semi-absence will be brief, but since I'm not sure, I am going to try and set things up in advance.

I am going to post the [livejournal.com profile] lotr_community April challenge today, but in order to expedite things, I will make it so that you do not have to wait for me to send out prompts.

I suggest that if you have any questions you send them to Cathleen (or to Dawn if they are of a technical nature).

I'm sorry this is happening right in the middle of B2MeM. I hope to have time to catch up on your stories during Reading Week. And I may have time to finish a few stories and post them from the library.

In more pleasant news: I got to see TH:AUJ today. My son got me the DVD (It's the combo pack that includes the DVD, the Blu-ray, and the Ultra-violet whatever that is.) and he and his girlfriend and her kids came over to watch it with me and have lunch; they just left a few minutes ago. It was a wee bit more hectic than watching it at the theater, but still, lots of fun. And I am so proud of Sophie--she behaved beautifully with the kids, and we only had to shut her in the bedroom while we ate lunch. Miss Belladonna mostly hid.

I'd also like to signal boost the following community. It is having a "prompt fest" to which you can request plot-bunnies for stories set in The Hobbit. They are accepting gen prompts as well as pairing prompts, and have several of those requested already. You can post your prompt requests between now and March 26. The great part? You do not have to claim a prompt to write in order to request a prompt! (Of course, they hope you will, but it is not a requirement.) So if there is a special story you'd like to see written, but you don't think you have time to write yourself, this is a great thing to take part in!

Here's the link to check it out!

We have electricity--and internet!!

Yaay!

I'm going out to a church pot-luck tonight, but when I get home, I'm going to celebrate by posting some Christmas-y pics that [livejournal.com profile] danae_b uploaded for me a few days ago!

I'm so glad it's back on now--we are supposed to be in for snow and an even colder cold snap this weekend, but thankfully, no more ice storms in the forecast!

(((((((hugs to everyone!)))))))

I'm just making a quick post from the local internet cafe--it's at the other end of town, and has power and internet available.

We've been two days without power at the house, but we have gas for heat, cooking and hot water, so we are in no chance of freezing, and we don't need a cooler--I put all the food from the fridge out on the front porch.

Anyway, they said it could be as long as a week without power, so who knows--it's not as bad as Katrina. *shrug* But some of the trees look like they did down there--except with a coating of ice!

Thanks to everyone. I don't know when I'll be online again, though!

(((((((hugs to flist))))))

It's not mine--I'm using the DH's laptop, but we do have access now, finally! My own computer is still lost somewhere in the depths of the garage! But I am crossing my fingers that we will find it (all of it, as the keyboard and monitor were packed separately) this weekend!

Trying to catch up to answering comments from the last several days--I don't think I'll get them all tonight, but I will get them answered. I probably won't get to comment on all of your posts, though--it's just too much!

[livejournal.com profile] danachan has been a lifesaver, posting for me and everything! And my thanks to [livejournal.com profile] marigoldg and [livejournal.com profile] lonewolf02; to [livejournal.com profile] slightlytookish and to [livejournal.com profile] gryffinjack and to [livejournal.com profile] knittedmerry and [livejournal.com profile] knittedpippin and to [livejournal.com profile] llinos for the cards that arrived at our new address, and to [livejournal.com profile] shirebound and [livejournal.com profile] budgielover for the cards that came before we moved!

I'll try to answer some more comments tomorrow! (((((huggses to all))))

Hi everyone! I've dropped in at the internet cafe to check my email and to skim my flist! I'm hoping to get hooked up at the new house by the 28th, though it *might* be sooner.

Moving is very hectic! I miss hobbits, and I miss y'all!

(((((hugs flist)))))

If I can't get back online before Christmas, then Happy HobbitdaysHolidays to all!
