Memorial Day
May. 31st, 2011 10:08 pmBoth the DH and I were off on Memorial Day-- not something I expected, so it was nice! We slept in until after 9, and then went to Walmart to pick up a few things. Got to laze around a little. Our son came over to have supper with us. Picspam behind the cut...( Read more... )
I worked a full shift today; we had leftovers for supper, and I've spent the evening making MEFA nominations! I am so glad the MEFA season has started!

Happy Easter!
Apr. 24th, 2011 10:06 amLent has ended and the day of Easter is here! I have to work today, so we went to the Sunrise service. Because we are having much needed rain here today, the planned outdoor service was held at our church instead.

I've enjoyed the challenge of making my Lenten posts this year. I hope that they have not been entirely boring, and that perhaps a few of you found them inspiring as I did. I wish a Happy Easter to those of you who celebrate this day as well! And to those of you who do not, I hope you have a wonderful day!

Holiday stories
Dec. 19th, 2008 10:07 amNow that I have finished my obligatory exchange stories (one for
yuletide and one for the LOTR Community GFIC exchange, I am hoping to maybe come up with a little something new for the season.
I have a couple of bunnies, and I will be feeding them to see if they grow.
In the meantime, here are links to my previous Yule stories--
Shire Yule at Stories of Arda
Or
Shire Yule at The Last Ship
If you haven't seen some of them before, I hope you enjoy!

Memorial Day
May. 26th, 2008 05:11 pmThis quotation seems apt for today.
"But when dark things come from the houseless hills, or creep from sunless woods, they fly from us. What roads would any dare to tread, what safety would there be in quiet lands, or in the homes of simple men at night, if the Dunedain were asleep, or were all gone into the grave?"
(Aragorn son of Arathorn, FotR, Book II, Chapter II, "The Council of Elrond")
